South-east, following the Six Dales Trail, along the southern side of Fewston Reservoir and the western side of Swinsty Reservoir. After Swinsty Hall, south-west to Carr Farm then skirting the southern edge of Dobpark Wood to Crag Farm. North towards the River Washburn and Folly Hall. Returning along the eastern side of Swinsty Reservoir and the northern side of Fewston Reservoir. A 14-mile walk in Nidderdale.
The best map to use on this walk is the Ordnance Survey map of Lower Wharfedale & Washburn Valley, reference OS Explorer 297, scale 1:25,000. It clearly displays footpaths, rights of way, open access land and vegetation on the ground, making it ideal for walking, running and hiking. The map can be purchased from Amazon in either a standard, paper version or a weatherproof, laminated version, as shown below.

Two of many very good base layers from the Amazon Berghaus store. Available in a variety of colours and sizes. I often wear them together for extra warmth and insulation.
